Sometimes the coolest stuff to see is deeper than you are trained for during your Open Water course. Want to know how to safely approach recreational limits? Want the confidence that will allow you to enjoy a usually more limited time at depth? Try the Deep Diver Specialty! During the four scuba dives, you’ll learn:
- Specialized deep diving equipment.
- Deep dive planning, buddy contact procedures and buoyancy control.
- Managing your gas supply, dealing with gas narcosis and safety considerations.
In order to finish this course, there are 4 dives you’ll need to complete. If you’ve already achieved your Advanced Open Water Diver with Deep Blue, you’ll only need to do three (as you did the first one during AOW). If you only need to do 3 dives we can typically do them in one day. If you need all 4, the course will be spread out over 2 days. While it is possible to do all the dives from the beach, most people prefer to complete this course over at Catalina Island.
Make sure you check our DB Scuba calendar to find out when we're next running this course. Let us know if you are interested but don't see it on the calendar.
The price of the course is $230. This includes materials, instruction, certification, and our full rental package (BCD, regulator w/computer, wetsuit, hood, tanks, and weights). Boat tickets are not included, but highly recommended.
In addition to counting towards your Master Scuba Diver Rating, this course also satisfies requirements for your Divemaster rating should you decide to go pro! Want to read more about other specialties we can offer you? Here they are!
